Oct. 2008 Requesting an “In Process” Library Catalogue Item The “In Process” status means that we have received the material, but we are still working to catalogue and/or process it, or it has come on approval and is quickly passing through our area. Use the same process as you would for any other item that you would request. In the public catalogue you click on the word “request.” After a request is made by a client, a printout is generated in Collection Services. The material is searched for, completed and sent on to the branch for pickup. The item is expressed through the system to reach the client as soon as possible. The items are sent to the branch with a slip saying “Rush Cataloguing: Hold Placed on Item.” The branch needs to check-in the item to generate the request slip and the email to the client alerting them that their material is available for pickup. If you have any questions about this, please let Joan Hobbins, Coordinator, Shelf Ready Materials, or Joseph Hafner know. Written by: Joseph Hafner Oct. 31, 2008
