When formulating a petition to extend the time limit for a PhD degree, please include the

Expected date of thesis defense.
A specific list of items completed and remaining to be completed prior to defense,

of the degree.
A list of publications resulting from the thesis work.
Source of funding for remaining PhD studies.
Career plans after graduation.
The petition must be accompanied by an approved plan of study and current transcript,
as well as letters of support for the petition from the thesis adviser and department
chair.
