This course will focus on initiatives of the NCAA’s Student-Athlete Affairs department: Academic Development, Personal Development, Service Development and Career Development. It is our goal to fully develop our student-athletes in key areas to lead them to success. Course Objectives: - To provide students with key skills necessary for success in a collegiate environment - To empower students to take a leadership role in their development - Be able to apply effective decision-making models to enhance their academic, athletic, and personal development - Be able to identify critical issues faced by student-athletes and where to seek appropriate campus and community resources Attendance: ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED. Absences due to team travel are excused, but must be cleared prior to your departure. Classroom Etiquette: All use of a cell phone is prohibited. No sleeping, excessive talking, or class disruptions No food is allowed in the Team Meeting Room Active participation is required Out of Class Requirements: There will be several events that you will have to attend that are outside of class time. Those events and dates will be announced well in advance so that you can include them in your schedule.
