1. What things should you consider about your personality to know if the
medical career is for you?
R/The personality that I need to know if the career is for me are:
I must like challenges, I have the opportunity to make a difference, I have an
inquisitive mind, should I be interested in science and how it gives the body's
functioning, I worry about the problems of others, suffering or pain .
You must be interested in helping people with your skills and knowledge.

2. What does it take to become a physician?
R / To become a doctor requires a serious commitment to education. It takes
11 to 16 years to complete their education, including four years of
undergraduate school, four years of medical school and from three to eight
years of residency training in a desired specialty. Doctors are also required to
maintain the licensure and undergo continuing education in order to keep up
with advances in the field.
3. What are the characteristics of the medical career?
R / The medical course is described as "career of your dreams" with the
following characteristics:
Service: Used to help people and advance knowledge.
Action: It is not tied to a desk all the time.
Respect: The work and contributions are an important part of their
community.
Security: Allows you to make a living with a secure future.
Mobility: skills and knowledge are in demand, what you choose to live.
Flexibility: We offer plenty of career options.
Few occupations meet all these standards. None meets them better than a
career in medicine.
4. What is the main job of a physician?
R / The main task of physicians to diagnose diseases and treat people
suffering from injury or illness. His professional life is full of care for people;
keep up with advances in medicine, and working as part of a health care team.
5. What is the difference between a primary care physician and a
specialist physician?
R / The difference between a primary care physician and medical care is
secondary to the primary care permanent medical service providing for the
whole family. General internists, family physicians and pediatricians are
considered genral gp. They are the first medical people consult health care.
And they are trained to provide the wide range of services for children and
adults need. But a doctor who focus on treating a particular system or body
part. surgeons treating injuries, diseases and deformities by performing
surgical procedures, neurologists who treat disorders of the brain and spinal
cord, cardiologists treat heart and blood vessels, and ophthalmologists who
treat eyes just a few of the many specialties of medicine. These physicians
work closely with primary care physicians to ensure that patients receive
treatment for specific medical problems as well as complete and
comprehensive care for life.
6. What else besides caring for people`s health can physicians do?
R / The physicians also do many other things such as: Medical researchers are
now working to develop new treatments for cancer, genetic disorders and
infectious diseases like AIDS. Academic physicians share their knowledge and
wisdom by teaching medical students and residents. Others work with
organizations of health maintenance, pharmaceutical companies, medical device
manufacturers, insurance companies, or companies who run the health and
safety programs. People with medical skills are in demand worldwide

R/ Physician has many rewards personal, intellectual and economically. On
average, doctors earn about $ 160,000 a year, but this amount can vary
depending on where the doctors live and what kind of medical specialty

working for themselves and more are joining health care systems, often as
salaried employees. In these organizations, physicians often can order the
salaries comparable to executives of other occupations.

hours can be long and unpredictable. Many doctors work 60 hours a week. May
also have to respond to emergencies and be on call for their patients.
The employment outlook for physicians in virtually every specialty is growing
and glowing. With the aging population, advances in genetic research and
technology, the need for doctors in rural and urban environments, and other
important factors, the demand for more doctors will continue to grow in the
future

that salary depend on?
R / The average salary of doctors in the U.S. is about $ 160,000 a year, but
this amount can vary depending on where the doctors live and what kind of

12. Why is Medical School tough?
R/Medical school is hard because a lot is demanded of you, both the volume of

medical school offered to help you succeed.
