If required, this might include such items as a spare battery, gadget bag, tripod, card-reader etc. Kind regards, Ken Mitchell, W.P.S. Sales. (Digital / Video / Photographic). Sony DCR-HC26 This is the budget model for those demanding ease of use above all other concerns. The picture quality in bright light is fair to poor, while the low light performance is downright bad. It has no mic input. (review from website) -2- PV-GS180 (Suzie recommends) This is a no-frills, small format MiniDV camcorder. It has Panasonic 3 CCD technology and an external microphone jack. Clearly, this is a bargain basement camcorder for point-and-shooters who know enough about image quality to want good specs, but prefer to avoid manual controls. The Optura Xi This is a solid camcorder with great still performance and great video perofrmance as well as outstanding manual control. The Optura Xi has a 1/3.4 inch CCD, that captures roughly 2.2 megapixels, for an effective pixel count of 1.23 megapixels for video and 2 megapixels for stills. The result is a bright, full-spectrum of colors. You can use a external microphone, set the levels, power it through the hot-shoe, dub audio over later, and watch and set the audio levels while you are recording - those are features that aren't included on most consumer camcorders. Nikon Coolpix P1 & P2, with WiFi The Coolpix P1 and P2 (five and eight megapixels respectively) have a built-in 802.11b/g WiFi module which enables them to communicate directly with the new version of PictureProject. This wireless connection can be used to transfer all images on the cameras storage card or in a 'live' situation where each image is sent back to PictureProject on the fly. This is a good shape and price BUT having an external lens without protection means that it is easy to break. -3- Olympus Stylus 720 SW Digital Olympus today announced the Stylus 720SW, a waterproof (to 3m) 7.1 megapixel camera that is also 'shock-proof' (resistant to falls from up to 1.5m). Boasting a maximum ISO of 1600, a large 2.5-inch screen and a 3x optical zoom (internal), the 720SW is available in an array of colours; Dusky Pink, Polar Blue and Steel Silver. A good thing about this model is that the lens is internal so it won’t damage as easily. The shape is not as easy for kids to hold onto. LUMIX model 6.0-megapixel DMC-FZ7 with MEGA O.I.S. (Suzie Recommends) Optical Image Stabilizer that compensates the hand-shake, incorporating a 12x optical zoom (equivalent to 36mm to 432mm on a 35mm film camera) LEICA DC lens. Differing from the FZ30 with manual focus ring and manual zoom ring. The FZ7 is compact and easy to carry with a powerful zoom capability and manual controllability. The good thing about this lens is that you can get an extra length to put on over the lens so that when zooming the lens is still protected. It is also a good shape for children to hold on to. -4-
