Responsible to: 2 Coordinators of Student Activities for Greek Life
Job Summary:
The Graduate Assistant for Local/Independent Fraternities, Interfraternity Council (IFC),
National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) primarily
advises the local/independent fraternities and councils that serve our traditional national
fraternities, historically African American Greek organization and our traditional Latino, Asian,
and South Asian Greek organizations. Roles include advising each council, meeting with the
officers of the councils, coordinating programming and marketing for the councils, providing
overall organizational leadership to the councils and helping with any workshops or retreat
planning. The Graduate Assistant will accompany members to any conferences they might
attend.
Responsibilities:
 Assist Coordinators in advising the officers of IFC, NPHC and MGC
 Attend executive board meetings, general council meetings, and Council President
Roundtables
 Plan the All Greek Presidents meetings with the Graduate Assistant for Panhellenic that
occur twice a semester
 Assist with the planning and implementation of the intake process
 Oversee all paperwork associated with the intake process and assist with development of
new member education
 Assist the groups with planning and implementing new member presentations, exhibition
shows, Meet the Greeks, Greek 101, Dia Step Show, IFC BBQ, IFC Fall Fest, EDG, and
all other events and activities sponsored by the councils.
 Work with the advisors of the organizations
 Assist the groups in planning programming to meet the educational needs of the
organization
 Help with IFC recruitment each semester including planning, advertising and utilizing the
ICS system
 Assist the groups in developing marketing and PR materials to promote IFC, NPHC and
MGC
 Assist in developing a plan to bring awareness to IFC, NPHC and MGC for recruitment
 Attend all Student Activities/ Greek Life staff meetings, student development meetings
and staff retreats
 Work on other projects concerning Greek Life as determined by the Associate Director of
Student Activities and the Coordinator for Greek Life
 Other duties as assigned
