Student Life Intern Vice President for Student Life Office Description of Office: Student Life seeks to enrich the Baylor experience through life-changing programs and services resulting in an integrated education known for leadership, service, Christian faith, and the total development of students. The mission of the office of the Vice President for Student Life is to provide vision and leadership of a team dedicated to excellence in reflecting the character and commitment of the vice president, facilitate information sharing and support through service to students and departments, and act as an advocate for students, staff, faculty, and the president. The Student Life Intern will assist the Vice President for Student Life and his staff with a variety of responsibilities to include: research, writing, and the development and delivery of presentations; assessing the use of social media; developing correspondence and communicating with various constituent groups; and reviewing and updating the division website. Due to the nature of the internship, preference is given to a current sophomore or junior who is interested in pursuing a career in student affairs. Responsibilities/Projects Continue an assessment of the use of social media to communicate and promote division programs and services and to provide recommendations for enhancements Review Vice President for Student Life website and provide updates as well as develop new content Create presentations utilizing multiple forms of media Participate in meetings that provide a broader overview of the division at the request of staff Research and write reports Conduct an assessment of the Division of Student Life marketing and branding as it relates to University standards Other duties as assigned Requirements Good written and oral communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, N-Design, PowerPoint, CMS and Prezi The ability to conduct research and generate findings and recommendations Self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks within an established timeframe Ability to work as part of a goal-oriented team Advanced understanding of social media and its uses Desire to learn and contribute to the learning and growth of others
