On-Campus Internship Program

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Students of any major in good standing with the university
and enrolled at Baylor as an undergraduate, masters, or
PhD student may apply for a Fall and/or Summer
internship. In addition, you must also:
 Have at least a 2.5 GPA.
 Be able to attend all pre-departure events held in Waco.
 International Students – MUST seek authorization for
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) before engaging
in an internship (paid or unpaid) from the
International Student and Scholar Services. To be
approved for CPT, the internship must be directly
related to your F-1 academic program and count as
course credit in your degree program. To be
approved, you must submit the CPT Authorization
Form, proof of registration in the course giving credit
for the internship and the employer offer letter. For

PROGRAM FEATURES & BENEFITS
 Placement into a quality internship in some form of
higher education.
 Paid at least minimum wage
 Training and support throughout the internship
including special events.
 Networking support.
 Work part-time defined as 20 hours per week.
 Summer Internship runs from May 31-August 5.
 Fall Internship runs from August 29-November 4.
(Fall Internship can be extended if managing office
and intern agree)
APPLICATION & SELECTION PROCESS
1. Type and print out application.
2. Complete all sections of the application (because this
application is for both the Summer and Fall
Programs, you MUST indicate the semesters for
which you request consideration). Incomplete or
handwritten applications will NOT be accepted.
3. All sections of the application must be completed to be
considered for the internship program.
4. Submit application, cover letter, and résumé by
email to:

5. Interested offices will contact you the week of April 4
to set up in-office interviews.
6. Interviews will take place from April 5-15.
7. Selections will be made and students will be notified
the week of April 18.
8. Final paperwork will be due April 29.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
 REMEMBER, this application is your first impression
on the selection committee. Make sure it represents
you well!
 The best way to complete the application is to complete
the application online and print it directly from the
website.
 Turn in sections 1-9 on plain, white paper, printed with
your first and last name in the header of your essay. If
turning in by hand, bind with a paperclip or staple. If
emailing, please scan and email as a PDF document.

staff reserves the right to make initial selections
based on paper applications to determine interview
eligibility.

4.) INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT
I understand that this application form, plus the supporting documents that I provide, become the property of
the Baylor On-Campus Internship Program and that these documents will be sent to potential internship
sponsors and selection committee members during the placement process. I will not request the materials to
be returned or transferred to other institutions or potential employers.
I further understand, if selected for the Baylor On-Campus Internship Program, each appropriate internship
site will review my materials and choose whether to offer an actual internship placement. I understand the
number of internships offered by each site is dependent on its respective applicant pool, the availability of
staff, and the amount of resources during that time, all of which vary from year to year. I understand that the
Baylor On-Campus Internship Program and Baylor University do not guarantee internship placement.
The Baylor On-Campus Internship Program is an academic program that requires additional participation
beyond this application, including, but not limited to: revision and review of application materials, completion
of materials in addition to the original application, attendance at special programs, adherence to the Baylor
On-Campus Internship Program code of conduct and Baylor University student rules, completion of intern
training, and other requirements as outlined by the program. I understand that failure to comply with program
requirements may result in removal from the Baylor On-Campus Internship Program.
If selected, I understand I will be expected to work 20 hours per week and will be paid at least minimum

5.) COVER LETTER
On a separate sheet of paper, submit a cover letter addressed to “Baylor’s On-Campus Internship Program
Selection Committee” to support your application and introduce yourself. It should explain your interest in an
internship on-campus; your educational, personal and career goals; what skills/leadership experience you can
bring as an intern; and any other relevant information. The cover letter must be between ¾ and 1 page in length,
single-spaced. Be sure to use a correct business letter format.
6.) PROFESSIONAL RÉSUMÉ
Provide an updated professional résumé (maximum 2 pages) to this application outlining your job experience,
leadership or organizational involvement, awards/honors/special recognition, and other information you feel is
relevant. Remember to list any extracurricular involvement at Baylor. Do not include references.
7.) REFERENCES
Submit contact information (name, title, phone, email) for three people (at least two from professional or
educational experiences) who are willing to provide a reference on your behalf. Please reach out to references to
request permission to potentially be contacted.
