DETERMINATION 2016/7 Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE BEYOND 120 OVERNIGHT STAYS I, MATHIAS HUBERT PAUL CORMANN, Special Minister of State, for and on behalf of the Prime Minister, determine under subsections 13(2) and 20(2) of the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 that, with effect on and from the date of this determination: 1. If an employee whose travel is not subject to the electorate support budget has had 120 overnight stays in Canberra in the 2015-16 financial year, the employee will be paid an amount equivalent to the Canberra rate of travelling allowance relevant for the employee’s classification for up to a further 15 overnight stays in Canberra. 2. If an employee: (a) whose travel is not subject to the electorate support budget; and (b) whose work base is neither Canberra nor an office of the employing Senator or Member provided at Commonwealth expense has had 120 overnight stays in Canberra or the location of an office of the employing Senator or Member provided at Commonwealth expense in the 2015-16 financial year, the employee will be paid an amount equivalent to the relevant rate of travelling allowance relevant for the employee’s classification for up to a further 15 overnight stays in: (c) Canberra; or (d) the location of an office of the employing Senator or Member provided at Commonwealth expense. 3.
