Fifth Grade Newsletter January 11th – 15th Important Dates: *January 11th After School tutoring and Super School begin *January 14th Parent Teacher Conference from 5-7 *January 18th Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (No School) News from the Teacher: Spring tutoring will begin January 11th and end March 3rd. Math tutoring will be Mondays and Tuesdays. Reading tutoring will be Wednesdays and Thursdays. Permission slips were sent on Wednesday, January 6th. We will be having our second parent teacher conference on January 14th from 5-7. What We are learning this week: ELAR: We will be reviewing different genres in fiction, Literacy Nonfiction, poetry, drama, expository, and persuasive. Make connections between and across multiple texts of various genres and provide textual evidence. MATH: We will be learning about fractions SCIENCE: We will be learning about Earth Science SOCIAL STUDIES: We will understand the important ideas in the U.S. Constitution with a focus on the Preamble and the Bill of Rights.
