News from the Teacher:
*Parents we will continue with afterschool tutoring from 3:30 – 4:30. Math tutoring is on
Mondays and Tuesdays. Reading tutoring is on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
*Parents we will continue to have Saturday Tutoring Camps. These camps will take
place from 8-11. The dates are February 6th, February 20th, and February 27th.
*Please have students practice multiplication tables daily and study their notes.
*Please sign agendas daily.
*Parents Monday, February 22nd is individual spring picture day. Students will be
allowed to wear their Sunday best or Easter Outfit. Remember students have to follow
District Dress Code.
*Students are now able to use I Station at home, please let Mrs. Aveytia know if you are
interested by writing a note in the agenda.
*We began our new homework last week please help your child through the process. I
will continue to work with them on strategies. Please support your child’s learning by
helping with the STAAR Practice Reading Log Activity from Monday thru Thursday.
** Some weaknesses that were noticed that you can help with are summaries, text
structure, and theme. These skills are in your child’s ELAR notebook – you can review
these skills with them.

What we are learning this week:
ELAR: We will be reviewing different genres in fiction, Literacy Nonfiction, poetry, drama, expository, and
persuasive. Make connections between and across multiple texts of various genres and provide textual evidence.
MATH: We will be learning about measurement
SCIENCE: We will be learning about Earth’s rotation and revolution
SOCIAL STUDIES: People Moving West and Industrial Revolution
