We are very excited to start off the year strong. The students will be working hard and diligently throughout the year to progress and succeed. With your help, your child will be able to thrive and accomplish great achievements. Instruction Language Arts/Reading-- Students will learn the different forms and elements of poetry. Our students will use an array of literary resources meaningfully and purposefully to understand and communicate reading effectively. Language Arts/Writing- Students will write compositions (Personal Narrative & Expository) to explain and describe personal experiences and events. Students will write legibly, capitalize, and punctuate correctly. Mathematics-- Students will be working with place value to the billions. In addition, they will learn the process standards to solve problems involving whole numbers and decimals. Please practice multiplication facts. They are a key element this year. Bagels and Bullies 8:15 a.m. Homework Students are assigned homework every day, Monday 8/26/15 Early Relase 11:30 thru Thursday. PleaseStudent make sure that your child completes the daily homework assignments. We will be reviewing homework as a class the following day. Agenda Each student will be given a free agenda. Agendas are a very important part of communication. Any notes from the teacher of praise or concern will be done in the student agenda, as well as their daily homework information. Please make sure you sign on a daily basis. Social Studies--Students will compare ways of Native American groups in Texas and the Western Hemisphere before European explorations and explain their economic patterns. They will be exploring economic reasoning for settlement. Science—Students will be exploring the different states of matter and the scientific process.
