Per - Course Positions Available – Spring Semester 2016 Department of English invites applications from individuals interested in teaching the following undergraduate course in spring 2016. Subject to budgetary restrictions and sufficient enrolments, appointments will be made on a course by course basis and will not entail any obligation to conduct research or perform any administrative service for Memorial University. Appointments will be made in accordance with the provisions in the MUN-LUMUN Collective Agreement. Course design and evaluation methods for all courses will be in accordance with the English department regulations and the Memorial University Calendar. English 1080 - Critical Reading and Writing in English Course Schedule: slot 03 Campus Location: On-Campus Course description: This course offers an introduction to such literary forms as poetry, short fiction, drama, and the essay. Emphasis is placed on critical reading and writing: analyzing texts, framing and using questions, constructing essays, organizing paragraphs, quoting and documenting, revising and editing. Qualifications: A Master's degree in English is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the course key concepts is required. Evidence of experience and competence in teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred.
