MUN Mentors Program
Dear Applicant,
Welcome to Memorial University and thank you for your interest in the MUN Mentors Program! The MUN
Mentors program is coordinated by the Internationalization Office (IO).
The MUN Mentors Program is a peer mentorship program whereby new international students are
mentored by current MUN students during their first semester at Memorial. We are certain that you will
benefit greatly by seeking the help of a mentor! Once you are matched, your mentor will help you with all
of your transition needs both before and after you arrive, including answering your pre-arrival questions,
showing you around campus, adjusting/improving your study habits, making new friends, and helping you
get involved in on- and off-campus activities. You will have a committed person that will be your contact
before and after you arrive to Memorial University. It is important that you are committed as well to share
with your mentor about your experiences and culture.
On the previous page is an application form for the MUN Mentors program for Fall 2016 semester.
Once you have completed the application form, please return it promptly to the program coordinator.
Within a couple weeks of having submitted your application form, you will be contacted via email by the
program coordinator and then by your mentor.
Please forward your application to me as soon as possible. Although mentee applications will be
accepted up until September 11, 2016, space is limited and it is best to submit your application at least
6-8 weeks prior to your arrival so that you and your mentor can communicate prior to your arrival. If you
have any further questions about the program, please feel free to contact me at yingz@mun.ca or +709864-8167.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Ying Zhang
MUN Mentors Program Coordinator
