Enn 198 Professor Gallagher Jason Chester 1/30/08 Perils of Struggle There once was a Kid who lived life with a broken heart. Not because he was sad about losing a loved one or sad that he could never get a chance to love. He was sad because the world around him never took the time to get to know him or love him. The people who were smarter, better looking, dressed better, and came from better backgrounds all teased him, and loved to put him down. He was a timid kid of medium built. His brown eyes told story of lost humanity and unsatisfactory upbringing. He lived in a home where his parents’ never gave him enough attention. They didn’t even notice when he left home to never return. The Kid who was faced prejudice, discrimination, and racism all because he was different ran away from this life and searched for a new exciting one. He was merely a teen when he hopped on the next ship sailing out of town to a live a life at sea. He was part of a band of outcasts. At first the captain planned on using him for his youth and leaving him off at some shore when he had no use for him anymore. Surprisingly the captain took a liking to the Kid. Something about the Kid’s willingness to work harder than others, He never judged a soul or spoke out of term with anyone. The Kid was a reader and a poet. They all had one thing in common they had a past they didn’t want to return to, and the open water was their escape. For ten years the Kid traveled the ocean and became a citizen of the world. He met diverse people and realized the pain of being an outcast was universal. After seeing all sorts of beautiful things, along with the injustices brought on by societies wealthy. The Kid grew as a humanitarian and realized his place in the world. He returned back to the place he was born. He was richer man, for his time at sea diving for lost treasure and catching expensive fish had been very lucrative. He stood taller than the town remembered and a lot more muscular. He wanted to seek out his parents, and those that once made his very existence the worst memories of his life. He did not seek them out for revenge, he was a socialist looking to help and aid and encourage. He only wanted to be a proponent for a better cause which was to help the working class understand their role and help them to seek out upward mobility. The Kid, now a man used his wisdom to speak and encourage others, who were living under the conditions he once did. He tried to tell them there is a better life, there is a different way. He will stand and represent them against all the injustices against them. In doing so the Kid was able to reach out to many people helping them to understand although they were born under harsh conditions, they didn’t have to remain there. In doing so the Kid was assassinated and his death was mourned all over. Although sad and untimely it was not in vain. He represented something the world needed to see, and thanks to this Kid many people are now free. Enn 198 Professor Gallagher Jason Chester 1/30/08 Perils of Struggle A great man died today, Tears of his many followers rain over the streets. There is a silence of mourning but a heartbeat of anger brooding. The Man, who came out of nowhere to stir up confusion, was assassinated while giving an important speech this morning. Shot down while waving to the crowd. He represented what people needed to know existed. Although you are born poor, and the world expects you to fail and be an outcast. He showed that fate was in your hands regardless what those in power and wealth attempted to do. He represented that it was never an individuals effort but a struggle in unison to stand for a better cause for all. He himself was a poor outcast who escaped his life of pain and found a fortune on the open sea. He left a boy and returned a man. Traveling the open sea with outcasts like himself, He visited many places and discovered vast varieties of civilizations. He grew as a humanitarian as he viewed the beautiful things along with the ugly. He understood the actions of those in charge were not in the favor of the poor. He saw the struggle. A Man as a kid was a reader and poet. He worked harder than most and never spoke out of turn. The captain liked him for these attributes, which changed the captain’s mind from leaving him off shore somewhere. The man came aboard this ship a teen, which had faced racism, discrimination, and prejudice and was looking for a better life, where ever it was. His parents’ didn’t notice he was gone. The timid kid, with sad brown eyes, and a medium build was lost in a world of injustice. Those who were better dressed, having better lives, and were more beautiful always seemed to relish putting him down. The kid never understood how he had less than everyone but instead of receiving love, he received hate and embarrassment. They made him feel it was his fault for being born in the home he lived in, and it was his fault he couldn’t afford the nice clothes and hair styles like the other kids. And that’s how the kid with a broken heart lived. Enn 198 Professor Gallagher Jason Chester 1/30/08 Perils of Struggle Beautiful, eloquent, soft, densely seen are the images portrayed. A world of chatter about things that don’t seem to matter, a life bruised by words and tormented by visions. Cloudiness surrounds the semblance. All the voices are belligerent in the center a small figure. Covering his ears and stooping to the ground. Sounds of laugher and joy over another person being demeaned are heard. Demons with beautiful faces oppress an angel dressed in rags. His brown eyes are tearful as he finds it hard to utter words. Gloomy colors infringe around his passionate aurora. To a house flipped upside down he runs. In his home two pigs sit on the couch oinking a way at an elephant in suit on television mumbling words that don’t make sense. He begins to run. Running on land he begins to fly, flying high he starts to soar. As the kid ascends high, he then descends into the water and hops a board an ocean cruiser. Aboard he’s surrounded by gentle beasts. Their all brooding of hunger and vigilance, together they begin a voyage. Faceless people with silent tears and violent whispers. A tornado of music representing bright spirits are rained over by lightning bolts who wish to destroy them. The kid with a blind heart and lost soul finds a spirit to sing a song. His silent voice soars to many, as he takes up an eagle like persona. The eagle returns to its homeland. It’s barren and rains fire. Skeletons walk around while dire conditions seem to be the norm. The Kid stands robed in jewelry expressing the life of a new spirit. His voice propels hope where the very existence of such, would be murdered by sharp knives in suits. The masses gather as his words cause earth quakes to the evil dragons that inhibit the land. He sings and words explode out of his mouth and transcend across the sky landing like droplets on the heads of the many. As it sinks in changing their minds, molding it to something far better than anything they believed or seen before. Amongst the laughter and cheering the kid explodes and his body parts are everywhere. The people gather around his remains. Although dead and his body dispersed everywhere it seems, the message of his soul has spread to them and he lives on through them.
