Final Reflection Eportfolio is a digital place where I could collect, organize, and demonstrate my academic capabilities to employers, professors, parents, and friends. By creating this ePortfolio I could gain many valuable experiences to my academic life, such as knowledge about several computer applications and its usage, writing and presentation skills, and better communication procedures. Now I feel more confident about my life, because through this ePortfolio application I could learn about myself as a student, and it really helped me to know about my skills and abilities. The most interesting part of this ePortfolio is the resume page, because in a conventional resume format, we cannot add all our information, since it should be limited to one page. Therefore, we always have to shrink our details, and add most relevant items that will improve the resume. However, with the help of this web based ePortfolio, I could insert all the necessary details to my resume page, and I believe it is really helpful when I apply for my internship, because employers can easily find a complete list of my potentialities and experiences. There are many resources that we can use to get help other than studio hours. Especially the internet based ePortfolio tutorials, and E-312 computer lab. First, internet tutorials are very user friendly to use, because everything is organized and easy to understand. I used these tutorials over and over again while do my pages at home. Second, E-312 lab hours are very important since we can get one-on-one assistance by the professional web developers. There are many STMs and IDAs who are well trained about Netscape Composer and other web designing software. Therefore, I think it is the best way to get extra help, and also it enhances our college experience through the relationships with senior students. According to this ePortfolio layout, there are several areas that we are assigned to write about ourselves in different angles, such as about me, educational goals, and course reflections. In the first time, it was challenging for me to write these essays since I’m an international student, but after I started these essays I found it is interesting to write since it focuses on me and my future. As I complete these writings, I could improve my language and communication skills both for this portfolio assignment and for other college courses. Now I really believe that I have improved my language skills and it is really helpful for me to get high grades for my other classes. EPortfolio is not a specific reflection, but it should be updated continuously. It is like a resume, because we have to add current information as we move on, such as new classes, assignments and designs. Therefore, I hope to develop an advanced ePortfolio in the next time with more classes by using Macromedia Dreamweaver with my own styles and designs. And in the future I intend to present my ePortfolio to my employer to convince him about my technological and academic knowledge and skills.
