Marquis Harrison Intro to College Com. 9/8/04 Michael Jordan The Life of Michael Jordan has been very interesting. He has one of the most recognizable faces in the world today. He played in the National Basketball Association for a little over a decade. Despite him being the best basketball player to play the game, he is very down to earth and he is great with children. Michael Jeffery Jordan was raised in North Carolina. He comes from an upper middle class family. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing baseball, and challenging his brother at any and everything. He attended Laney High School where he did not have immediate success. As a matter of fact, Michael was cut from the varsity team his sophomore year, but excelled the next two years. Michael received a basketball scholarship from North Carolina and played there three years before making the jump to the NBA where even in his retirement, is one of the most well known people worldwide. Michael Jordan will stand out in any public setting with his six foot six frame and broad shoulders. His hair isn’t much to talk about, because he is bald-headed. He began shaving his head during his sophomore campaign at U.N.C. He wears one looped-shaped earring in his left ear, which is very popular with the youth today. He wears a size thirteen shoe to match his lanky frame, which looks nice on his own personal apparel, Brand Jordan. Michael Jordan has begun re-releasing his shoes from his playing days, and is probably netting more profit now than in the past. Mike’s game is second to none. He has one of the most fluent jump shots ever. He has significant ball handling ability, and is a crisp passer. He has not been recognized as much for his defense as he would like’ but he has won a couple of Defensive Player of the Year awards, and has been selected to the All-Defensive Team numerous times. He has been on the infamous 1992 Olympics (Barcelona) “Dream Team” with other greats, such as Larry Bird and Erving “Magic” Johnson just to name a few. In closing, Michael can either be recognized by his looks, swagger, and overall appereance, or just by the motion, potency, or fear of his ever present jump!
