TPC Command • Current AWD defines PC-A-MAP IE – This IE is TPC command for Closed Loop PC – PC-A-MAP IE has 2 bit-field • -0.5dB, 0dB, 0.5dB, 1.0dB – AMS should interpret this IE as relative value to current tone power Closed Loop Power Control • In FDD Systems – Active AMS should keep track of short term channel at least • For Control Channels – Guarantee of Target SINR is important • For Persistent Allocation – Due to limited set of MCS level, rate control is not appropriate – Periodic Tx power update by using PC-A-MAP would prevent abrupt huge Tx power change How to Assign PC-A-MAP? • Explicit Way – FBCH Alloc IE can include a field which indicates the PC-A-MAP location to a MS – The field size is dependent on total number of channels per subframes overhead increase • Implicit Way – By coupling with assignment of UL reference signal, additional explicit assignment might not be necessary – One good reference is FBCH allocation No overhead increase • Suggestion is “Implicit Assignment of PC-AMAP” Implicit Assignment • FBCH is assigned to AMS in mandatory • We can exploit FBCH allocation order for PCA-MAP allocation – BS can estimate UL SINR based on FBCH – PC-A-MAP field is set based on estimated UL SINR • PC-A-MAP location can be coupled with FBCH allocation Assignment Rule Example (FDD) • ABS assigns FBCH to AMS#1 in UL subframe#3 with 5ms – Then, PC-A-MAP is automatically assigned in DL #7 – Exact location in DL#7 is determined by the order of AMS#1’s FBCH in UL subframe#3 DL Subframe #3 DL Subframe #4 DL Subframe #5 DL Subframe #6 DL Subframe #7 DL Subframe #0 Duration1 UL Subframe #2 UL Subframe #3 UL Subframe #4 UL Subframe #5 DL Subframe #2 DL Subframe #3 DL Subframe #4 DL Subframe #5 DL Subframe #6 DL Subframe #7 UL Subframe #2 UL Subframe #3 UL Subframe #4 UL Subframe #5 UL Subframe #6 UL Subframe #7 Duration2 UL Subframe #6 UL Subframe #7 CQI #2 UL Subframe #1 CQI #1 UL Subframe #0 DL Subframe #1 UL Subframe #0 UL Subframe #1 CQI #2 DL Subframe #2 CQI #1 DL Subframe #1 TPC #1 DL Subframe #0 (i+1)th frame TPC #2 i-th frame Assignment Rule Suggestion • FDD Systems Subframe index Channe l index i m q i + floor[ (m+P/2)/N ] (floor(m+P/2)) mod N q Frame index FBCH • Location TDD Systems – TBD PC-A-MAP IE Location Note P : period of FBCH (subframe) N : # of subframes in a frame Proposed Text • Insert the following text and Table XX under the table 683- PC-A-MAP IE format in section 15.3.6.5.2.10 of AWD (10r2) For FDD systems, when FBCH is assigned to AMS, the corresponding PC-A-MAP shall follow the assignment location defined in Table XX. In the table, P is Allocation period (p) of Feedback Allocation A-MAP IE (refer to Table 682) and N is the number of subframes in a frame. For TDD systems, when FBCH is assigned to AMS, the corresponding PC-A-MAP shall follow the assignment location defined in TBD.
