IEEE C80216m-09_2422r2 Clarification on Network Entry and Initialization (15.2.15) Feng Xie, Lin Chen, Mary Chion, Yang Liu, Zhaohua Lu, Hongyun Qu ZTE Corporation 1. Introduction In current P802.16m/D2, the procedure of network entry and initialization needs clarification. In this proposal, the procedure of network entry and initialization is provided in a figure. 2. Text Proposal ======================== Start of Proposed Text ===================== Accept the following modification to 15.2.15.1(page 220, line 35): The AMS shall have nonvolatile storage in which the last operational parameters are stored and may first try to reacquire the stored DL channel. If the DL Channel is acquired, the AMS can determine the cell type and select preferred cell based on the stored SA-Preamble partitioning information. If the aforementioned process fails, the AMS shall begin to scan the possible channels of the DL frequency band of operation until it finds a valid DL signal. Replace Figure 442 with the following figure: IEEE C80216m-09_2422r2 Scan for Apreamble PHY-level synch with a target cell established Obtain P-SFH / SSFH IE SP1 Ranging & automatic adjustment P-SFH / SSFH IE SP1 acquired N o Ranging & automatic adjustment complete Cell bar bit==0 Yes Obtain remaining S-SFH IEs Registration & capabilities negotiation complete Basic capabilities negotiated Establish preprovisioned connections AMS authentication & key exchange Operational DL sync with a target cell established Preferred Cell type?
