Adelante Mujer
The primary goal of Adelante Mujer is to unify the diverse Latina students at CSU Channel
Islands in the desire to promote academic excellence in our community and the pride that
accompanies the knowledge of self.

Animal Advocates
The purpose of Channel Islands Animal Advocates (CIAA) is to promote awareness as to the
plight of abused, abandoned and neglected animals in our community, and to assist these animals
directly by volunteering with local animal rescues/shelters.

Biology Club
The purpose of the Biology Club is to provide students throughout the sciences with
opportunities to participate in community service activities, raise awareness and educate others
throughout our communities, partake in constructive science-based activities, as well as to create
camaraderie among fellow students within and among the sciences at California State University
Channel Islands.

The purpose of the Student Communication Association is to aid students of all disciplines in
communication studies in a social setting through networking opportunities, enhancement of
communication skills and development of career goals.

El Club de Español
The purpose of el Club de Español is to provide opportunities for CI students to enrich their
understanding and appreciation of the Spanish language and the diverse peoples and cultures of
the Hispanic world through a variety of social and cultural activities. In addition, el Club de
Español aims to foster contacts with local Spanish-speaking communities through the creation of
service projects and field trips

The primary purpose of Gamma Beta Phi is to encourage scholastic effort and reward academic

The purpose of this organization is to foster a spirit of unity and to provide a social and

The IEEC strives to maintain a goal of supporting international education and exchange at CI.

International Relations Club
The CI International Relations Club will work to promote a deeper global understanding among
students and community members by: engaging them in thoughtful discussions, exposing them
to global viewpoints, highlighting the benefits of international cooperation and concern for the
welfare of humanity regardless of national borders, and encouraging students to become global
citizens with a strong commitment to enhance peace keeping, sustainable development and
human rights.

Island News
The purpose of the Island News shall be to complete the activities necessary and appropriate for
the broadcasting of video journalism segments that will be made available to the University’s
community. The segments include news, interviews, feature stories, and material deemed
suitable by the officers and membership under the guidance of the faculty and advisers. The
broadcast shall be in electronic media, and shall be completed in accordance with ethical
standards of accuracy and fairness prevalent and accepted within the journalism profession.

The purpose of the Math Club is to better educate the students of CSU Channel Islands of
mathematics-related activates, to encourage the study and pursuit of mathematics on campus and

school in the field of mathematics in the region and abroad.

This club is a support group for all students, and those of Chicano/a or Latina/o heritage in
particular, to assist with student's progression in their educational institution. The club also

The Residence Hall Association seeks to provide a representative body of student housing
residents with authority and to act and implement on behalf of student housing interaction with
other groups and organizations: initiate, implement, and coordinate programs designed to
enhance the educational, cultural, and recreational experience of the residential students; and to
organize and promote participation in events and activities of CSU Channel Islands and affiliated
organizations.

USAWA is dedicated to encouraging the intellectual, political, cultural, and social growth of all
CSU Channel Islands students by educating from an African American platform. Through
enriching curricular and co-curricular programs and services, (Kuumba is Swahili for creativity),
we are motivated to learn, as well as to teach, in hope that we may strengthen awareness, spark
action and serve as conscious, purposeful, change agents in our community.

The purpose of Zeta Pi Omega is to promote and provide female leadership and cooperation,
