EXPECTATIONS: I will expect you to do the assignments, pay attention and participate. In return you should
expect me to be prepared for class, to make sure the materials and classroom activities are made as interesting
as possible, and to be enthusiastic. Since I want you to feel at ease and enjoy the class, my expectations and
rules are few:
1.
2.
Be in class, prepared and ready to work when the bell rings.
Show respect to the instructor and other members of the class.
ATTENDANCE: The expectation is that students will attend each class session. Daily participation points will be
earned for attendance, being on time to class, meeting behavioral expectations, class discussion, on-task
behavior, and a positive, respectful attitude. The absence and tardy policy will follow guidelines stated in the
planner.
GRADING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Grading will be done on a straight percentage basis. Cheating of
any kind will not be tolerated and will result in an automatic score of “0” on that work. Due dates for the
“Power of One” assignment will still apply whether or not the student is present. It is the student’s responsibility
to ask the teacher for any assignments missed during absence. Missed assignments must be made up within
one week. The grading scale is standard and can be found in your planner.
LEADERSHIP: Leadership is part of all CTE programs. Each student will complete a “Power of One” project
during the trimester to be determined by the individual along with his/her teacher. This project will involve the
planning and decision making process and will be related to the subject of the class.
CLIMATE: You will be expected to leave all food/soda/snacks in the commons or risk having them confiscated.
You are expected to keep abusive or foul language out of the classroom, as it is offensive and unacceptable. Do
not write on desktops. Electronic devices must be put away during class or they will be confiscated. All papers
have complete headings including:
First and Last Name

fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Projects must relate to course curriculum. When in doubt, talk to your teacher.
