Other grades had less discrepancy – 3rd – 3% discrepancy, 5th gr. – 6% discrepancy, and 6th gr. – 3% discrepancy. Challenge X p.3 There is a drop in the math score from 3rd to 4th grade of 12%. This designation signifies they have reached a standard of excellence regarding character development. Hidden Creek was required to address 11 principals of character practiced in their school. They are the only school in Washington State to receive this designation. Hidden Creek will hold this SSOC designation for 3 years and will serve as a model of excellence within Washington state sharing character education best practices with other schools of character. They are also eligible for national recognition and technical assistance or other guidance from their state sponsors to help them achieve national status. Hidden Creek’s application will be forwarded to the Character Education Partnership organization for consideration at the national level.
