Task 1 • • Work in pairs. • Go to the following links and choose one application format to develop the tasks. • • Formato 1 • Formato 2 • Formato 3 • Formato 4 • • Print the application format to write on it the following indications: • • Check the text and get the main ideas of each part of the Application format. Follow the steps below: a) Circle the repeated words. b) Underline the friendly words (cognates: words that are familiar for you). c) Put into a square the words that you don’t know. e) Look up the meaning of the unknown words with some electronics dictionaries as: http://www.wordreference.com, merriam-webster online dictionary and make a glossary, using the following format: Appendix 1 Word /expression • Meaning in Spanish The sentence that includes the unknown word from the text. • The titles and subtitles are used to divide the information into paragraphs. If you only read the titles and subtitles you can predict the principal ideas that may be in the text. Go through the application and fill in the following chart: Appendix 3. Headings (in English) Write the words that are in Italic, Bold Type, underlined or highlighted with any graphic. Ideas you get (in Spanish) Answer the following questions in Spanish: • • According to headings, what is the main idea of the text? • • What are the most important ideas? Appendix 3. Appendix 4. • • Create a Word Document and (in the first page) write the title of the text, your names, your Student ID, your area of study. • • Scan the aplication format that you worked on and add it to the Word Document. • • • • Save the Word document as “ProyectoCAAOurNames”. For example: “ProyectoCAARaulCesarDionicio. Add the appendixes 1, 2 , 3 , 4 into the same Word Document. Task 2 • • Open your Word Document “ProyectoCAAOurNames” and reread the text, the appendixes 1, 2, 3 and 4 again. • • Answer the following questions in Spanish. Write a composition from 50 to 80 word with your answers into the table of the appendix 5. DO NOT WRITE THE QUESTIONS. a) What is the main purpose to know a format like this? b) What is the most important information that you found? c) Why is this information relevant to your context? Appendix 5 • • Save your document and keep it for the next task. Final Task. • • Open your Word Document “ProyectoCAAOurNames” and reread the text, the appendixes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 again. • • Use the most appropriate computer tools to create a Power Point Presentation with the information in Appendix 5. (In Spanish) USE THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: • • • • The 1st slide must contain: a. a. Title of the text. b. b. Names of the members of the group with ID Student Number. c. c. Area of study. • The 2nd slide must include: a. a. What was your experience doing this activity? b. b. How did you feel doing this kind of activity? c. c. What problems did you find? How did you solve them? • The 3rd slide must include: a. a. • Information from appendixes 3 and 4. • The rest of the slides (except the last one) must include the content of appendix 5 and the application format scanned: a. a. Fill the application format with the information required (it could be your personal or invented information) and scan it. • • The last slide must include the terminology list of appendix 1. • • Save the Power Point Presentation as “ProyectoCAAPPTOurNames” into the folder “PortfolioCAAOurNames” • • According to the Calendar, deliver the PortfolioCAA to the Self Access Center.
