SECOND PART: APPLICATION FORM IN WORD Special Rapporteur on the right to education [HRC res. 26/17] Appointments of mandate holders to be made at the 32nd session of the Human Rights Council (13 June – 1 July 2016) How to apply: The entire application process consists of two parts: 1. online survey and 2. application form in Word format. Both parts and all sections of the application form need to be completed and received by the Secretariat before the expiration of the deadline. First part: Online survey (http://ohchr-survey.unog.ch/index.php/891483?lang=en) is used to collect information for statistical purposes such as personal data (i.e. name, gender, nationality), contact details, mandate applying for and, if appropriate, nominating entity. Second part: Application form in Word can be downloaded from http://www.ohchr.org/EN/HRBodies/SP/Pages/HRC32.aspx by clicking on the mandate. It should be fully completed and saved in Word format and then submitted as an attachment by email. Information provided in this form includes a motivation letter of maximum 600 words. The application form should be completed in English only. It will be used as received to prepare the public list of candidates who applied for each vacancy and will also be posted as received on the OHCHR public website. Once fully completed (including Section VII), the application form in Word should be submitted to hrcspecialprocedures@ohchr.org (by email). A maximum of up to three reference letters (optional) can be attached in Word or pdf format to the email prior to the expiration of the deadline. QUALIFICATIONS (200 words) Relevant educational qualifications or equivalent professional experience in the field of human rights; good communication skills (i.e. orally and in writing) in one of the six official languages of the United Nations (i.e. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish.) Having a bachelor degree of Franch language, I am a , women's rights activist and Human Rights defender, researcher,writer and journalist. I was one of the founders of the Women's Cultural Center, co-founder of the One Million Signatures Campaign, a founding member and board member of the women's first specialized library on women issues called “Sediqeh Dowlatabadi”, and "Lady of Evaz" women library, and a founding member of the Feminist School. For ten years, I was coordinating the audio library for blind children and also cooperated with the Children's Book Council. As for my activities in this field, I received an honorary prize from International Bureau for Children's book in 2010, Iran. I am Iranian National Library’s former librarian. After getting retired in cooperation with UNICEF, Children's Book Council and other public institutions, I got engaged in activities to establish small and mobile libraries for women and children in rural areas. In 2008, I started to work on a project on the museum of women’s social history, offered by the Nobel laureate Shrin Ebadi, but I was arrested during the aftermath of Iranian presidential election in 2009 and had to abandon the project. i 2. During 2011-2013, I worked with PEN Association in Germany by "Writer in Exile" program. These collaborations continued with releasing publications such as the book "Sisters Shahrazad" and several short stories written in German in a series of stories published by PEN in Germany.While I collaborated with International Women's Museum Network through Nuremberg women museum.Since 2014, I have been a master student majoring in Human Rights and Gender Study at the Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University(ISS). Currently, I am working as a researcher at the ISS for Civil Research Committee (CIRI). 3. MOTIVATION LETTER (600 word limit) As an Iranian woman activist and a Human Rights defender, I would like to apply for (HRC res.26/17) I found this job as an excellent opportunity for me to share my update specialized skills and abilities with the grassroots people over the world to access to the Right of Education. Given my experience in Iran and also the new experience in Europ, I am able to analyze how to advance the Human Rights civil desires within diverse nation and ethnic groups with respect to gender equality . I worked for 22 years from 1979 to 2000 in the Iranian National Library, I studied in French language and receiving a BA after 4 years. Since 2000 after retirement from the library I have been active in organizing and founding the local mobile and small non governmental libraries for women and children and the other women’s organization including: Women Cultural Center (2000), Women library Sedigheh Dolatabadi, Tehran (2003), Women library Banoo Evaz (2005), Campaign for One Million Signatures (2006), Feminist school website and group (2007), Iranian Women’s Coalition for its demands (2009), Green Coalition of women(2010). I worked voluntarily for 10 years for “The Children books Council of Iran” (Iranian section of IBBY ) to provide Inclusive library for blind children and training of trainer for producing talking books. In 2010 in recognition of my work I was awarded Testimonial Statute Honors Award by the IBBY ir. I have been writing and engaging in women’s issues and have published several books and many articles in women magazines and websites. In 2011, I was awarded a scholarship by German’s PEN association for 3 years. Despite the difficulties of new life, I have continued writing and have published a book and several short stories published in the Pen anthology along with several articles, essay, interviews mostly published in Persian, and several in German, English and French languages.
