MOTIVATION LETTER (600 word limit) My motivation in being appointed as a Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights is twofold; one general and the other specific. The general motivation comes from my general aspiration to make practical contribution towards the realization of full promotion and protection of human rights for the People as an African national, while the specific motivation is generated by both my related studies background and my approach on how we can stand-up to promote an era of respecting human rights in our world as the Nobel Peace Circle's (non-for-profit do/think-tank & a UN Global Compact Academic Member) co-chair for Human Rights and as a fellow for Sudan Case in the Non-Killing Center in the United States. Moreover, it is generated by the language of the renewed mandate of the Technical assistance for the context of negative impact of unilateral coercive measures in the field of human rights, in a paragraph of the Human Rights Council Resolution 27/21 which states " To study trends, developments and challenges in relation to the negative impact of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of human rights, and to make guidelines and recommendations on ways and means to prevent, minimize and redress the adverse impact of unilateral coercive measures on human rights" and that is core belief of my own to carry out this responsibility. Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), and the Child-Friendly Text of the U.N. Disability Convention (Draft 13 – September 2007).
