Whether it be through their involvement in student organizations, in the community or individual contributions to the University, it is important that these students and student organizations be recognized for their outstanding efforts on behalf of our campus. It is in this spirit that the Campus Student Services Office and the AMC Student Senate is pleased to announce that we will be holding the sixth annual University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Excellence Awards for Student Organizations, Leadership, and Service for the 2013-2014 academic year The award categories include the following: Outstanding Student Organization Leader Outstanding Student Organization Outstanding Community Service by an Individual Student Outstanding Community Service by a Student Organization Outstanding Service to the University by an Individual Student The AMC Student Senate is asking that you please embrace this opportunity to assist in recognizing outstanding student leaders on campus by nominating outstanding student leaders and student organizations, and individual student contributors of service to the University. Criteria: Recognizes a student leader who has provided exemplary service, commitment, and strong leadership to a student organization. Made a meaningful contribution to members of the organization. Motivated the group. Made him/herself available to student organization members and utilized the strengths and talents of individuals in the group. Exemplified integrity in their words and actions. Demonstrated initiative by seeking ways to challenge the present and enrich the future. Criteria: This award recognizes a student organization that demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity, and perseverance and made a meaningful contribution to its own student membership and the AMC campus community. The student organization must have organized activities, events, and programs that have had a significant impact on the quality of campus life. Through commitment to enhancing our community via acts of service, the individual student meets the needs of the community, engages in hands-on learning, and finds personal fulfillment. Eligibility: Any student enrolled as a degree seeking student in a degree program at the Anschutz Medical Campus who has provided outstanding community service through their own efforts as an individual, outside of any contributions they may have made as a member of a student organization during the 2013-2014 academic year. Criteria: The award recipient must have a continuing commitment to community service as reflected in one or more programs and initiatives, which are responsive to community needs, and exhibit a new or continuing partnership with the community. (Note: Students whose service is limited to, or was initiated by participation in a course for academic credit are not eligible for this award.) An in-depth explanation about why you are nominating this student for an award, including: 1) Question(s) to be answered by nominator: Please describe how this individual is participating in serving the community. Criteria: This award recognizes an AMC student who provided exemplary service to the University, and demonstrated commitment to bettering the University through their efforts. The nominee must have been involved in University/campus activities (through their academic program, and/or interdisciplinary efforts) and will have assumed responsibility in her/his area of participation, while demonstrating strong service initiative.
