The mission of the Office of Greek Life at Auburn University is to serve as an advocate and resource for the Greek community and provide our students with opportunities for personal growth and development.

The mission of the Auburn University Interfraternity Council is to govern, to serve, to represent, and to promote, with the highest standard of integrity, its member fraternities. We exist as a resource to facilitate the growth and development of fraternity men in the areas of personal and fraternal responsibility, leadership, scholastic achievement, civic engagement, and brotherhood.

Bachelor's degree;

All candidates must be either current Auburn University graduate students, OR will be enrolled for the

2014-2015 academic year. Proof of acceptance or class schedule may be required;

Excellent written communications skills;

Strong interpersonal skills;

Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks;

A commitment to team work;

Desire to work with students and assist in their development.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate students pursuing master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Adult Education,

Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, or a related field;

Prior advising experience with student run programs and/or organizations;

Undergraduate experience as a student leader.

Membership in a Greek letter organization is preferred but not required.

Expected Role/Responsibilities for Position

Advising and working with student leaders

Providing direction and guidance to student leaders as they plan projects, assisting with program advisement, development and planning, publicity, production, assessment, and budget preparation and management

Serving as a resource to students

Advising one of the 3 Greek governing councils: Interfraternity Council

Participating in staff trainings and meetings

Participating on committees and other programs promoting the Division of Student Affairs and/or Auburn University

This position will require occasional weeknight and weekend hours

Assist in advising the Auburn Interfraternity Council (IFC) and its executive board

Work with and advise the IFC Cabinet

10.

Assist with the training & records maintenance of the fire & life safety program

11.

Attend meetings with chapter presidents and advisors
