JOHNSONITE®’S NEW BASEWORKS™ THERMOSET RUBBER
WALL BASE OFFERS INCREASED FLEXIBILITY AND ENHANCED
PERFORMANCE
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio (May 1, 2012) – Continuing its tradition of
offering the world’s most extensive array of finishing borders and
accessories, Johnsonite, a Tarkett company and provider of the world’s
most integrated high-performance flooring system, introduced its new
BaseWorks™ Thermoset Rubber Wall Base. Designed to address
increasing market demand for rubber product offerings, the new wall
base provides increased flexibility for ease of installation and works
flawlessly with the company’s wide range of products. The addition of
BaseWorks makes Johnsonite’s the most comprehensive wall base line
on the market.
With its high-performance qualities and extreme flexibility, BaseWorks
Thermoset Rubber Wall Base from Johnsonite is an ideal choice for
designers and contractors. BaseWorks’ rubber construction installs
easily, even around curves and columns and its surface resists fading,
cracking and will not shrink or separate from the wall. The flexible yet
reliable construction easily molds to complex floor plans or sharp
corners while maintaining the look and performance of a solid base.
Additional benefits include durability and impact and abrasion resistance
for superior performance in high-traffic areas. The BaseWorks
Thermoset Rubber Wall Base is low-maintenance and can be installed
with the current Johnsonite adhesive system.
Available in six profiles, options for the BaseWorks Rubber Wall Base
include both toe and toeless options in 2-1/2-inch, 4-inch and 6-inch
heights. The wall base is offered in Johnsonite’s 32 ColorMatch® colors –
a broad range of colors that will never be discontinued – with a matte
finish surface luster. Look for more color palette options coming in
summer 2012.
With the addition of BaseWorks, Johnsonite® now offers its customers
the only fully-integrated line of coordinated flooring solutions, finishing
borders and accessories in the world. Johnsonite’s complete range of
wall bases, including BaseWorks, is FloorScore® certified for indoor air
quality, with TVOC (total volatile organic compound) emissions below
the limit of quantification. The product contains no halogens, phthalates
or chlorine and meets all the performance requirements in ASTM F1861. BaseWorks Thermoset Rubber Wall Base contains natural mineral
filler as well as 2.3 percent rapidly renewable content (by weight), is
recyclable as part of the company’s ReStart program and can help
contribute toward obtaining Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED®) points.
Johnsonite’s BaseWorks Thermoset Rubber Wall Base line is
manufactured in the company’s Middlefield, Ohio plant, which is both
ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 certified for high standards in environmental
management and resource stewardship. And, like all Johnsonite
solutions, this new wall base addresses the company’s ongoing
dedication to meeting sustainable objectives through good raw material,
resource stewardship, creating people-friendly spaces and
recycling/reuse.
