Once you are a member, feel free to post questions, comments, or reminders of your own that are school related. Family Portraits: This is a once a year event where the PTA brings in a photographer to take family photos. You schedule the time slot and pay the sitting fee. View your photos online in a few days after they are taken. New this year, photos in the Fall....perfect for a holiday gift or holiday cards! Boxtops for Education: What Is It? Box Tops (For Education) are coupons/certificates that can be found on hundreds of products that you use everyday, such as: General Mills cereals, Juicy Juice, Kleenex tissues, Ziploc bags, Nature Valley granola bars, Betty Crocker fruit snacks, Pillsbury biscuits, and even Avery binders and dividers. See the PTA website for the complete list of participating products. How Does It Work? For every Box Top we collect, General Mills will pay us 10 cents. Box Tops submissions are sent to GM every October and February; the checks are mailed every December and April. This past April, Hillside PTA received a check for over $900! The PTA uses this money to provide educational programs and activities for our children. In 2008, the money collected from the Box Tops for Education program went directly towards the purchase of our newest playground equipment. How Can You Help? By clipping the Box Tops coupons and sending them to school! Box Tops can be brought in to the classroom at any time of the year; however, we do run special promotions and incentive programs right before the submission deadlines to try to encourage more students to participate. Did You Also Know…You can also help support our school by shopping online? Sign up at the Box Tops website (btfe.com) and choose from over 70 retail stores such as Lands End, Gap, Oriental Trading Post, Barnes and Noble, and Target. A percentage of your purchase (generally between 2% and 8%) will be automatically donated to Hillside PTA with no additional cost to you. Monster Mash Dance: A PTA sponsored family night. It is a free party at Hillside School. It is for Hillside students and their families. It is not a drop off event. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase. Show off your costume! Bake Sales: A Friday favorite! Every treat is $0.50....made or purchased by our Hillside families. A great way to support the PTA.
