Wednesday, November 24………………. Half day Dismissal at 12:15pm- Thanksgiving Recess
Thursday and Friday, November 25 and 26…………………… No School- Thanksgiving Recess
Tuesday, November 30……… Deadline to submit photos for “Hanging in the Hallway” photo contest
Friday, December 24-Friday, December 31….………………………..…..No School- Winter Break
Pre-Ordered Lunch from My Food Days
The pre-order lunch system opens the first day of the preceding month (ex. opens December 1st
for January lunch orders). Orders are accepted until the 15th of the month and payment must be
received by the 17th of the month. There is a 10 day lead time required in order for the PTA and
My Food Days to process the orders and print labels for the vendors. We ask that you please be
aware of the given time frames to order lunch.
Please make sure that your email address is up to date in the My Food Days system to be kept up
to date on all ordering deadlines.

November 30th deadline approaching for "Hanging in the Hallways" Photo Contest!!
We are asking parents/students from all grades to digitally submit recent group shots (current
school year, last school year). The winning photos will be chosen by the 5th grade students to "hang
in the hallway" at Hillside. There will be one picture to represent each grade (K-5).
All pictures must be submitted digitally; hard copies will not be accepted. Please email your photos
(in jpeg format) to Debbie Danchak at ddanchak@verizon.net Photos must be labeled kindergarten,
first, second, third, etc., no need to submit student names.
Need more submissions from Kindergarters, 1st and 2nd graders!!!

FIVE BELOW FUNDRAISER
Attention Shoppers! FIVE BELOW on Route 10 in East Hanover will give back 10% of all purchases
made by Hillside Families to the PTA.
Just present the flyer to the cashier every time you shop from November 26th (Black Friday)
until December 5th and the PTA will get 10% of that purchase.
Proceeds earned from Hillside’s fundraisers, supports many programs and activities the PTA
provides for Hillside students.

START EMAILING US YOUR PHOTOS
The Yearbook Committee is now collecting photos from all grades for the collage pages of this year’s
ALL COLOR yearbook. We are looking for digital photos only (photos that can be emailed). Please do
not send your actual photos to the school office as was done in the past. If you don’t have digital photos,
feel free to scan them into your computer so they can be emailed. Pictures should be high resolution –
no photos taken from cell phones, please. We are organizing all photos in our server by grade level so
please title your photos with the appropriate grade level, or indicate “multi-level” if kids in your photo are
from more than one grade. All photos should be emailed to Dayna Platnick at dakamiel@aol.com. If
