Our class will consider the use of propaganda during the era of imperialism, World War I and the Russian Revolution. Our assumption will be that propaganda, both visual and written, has been used as a major tool of foreign policy and government influence over societies. You must find seven examples of propaganda, one for each propaganda technique we will learn, from these three historical time periods and produce an additional example on your own. Your production can look like or be modeled after other pieces of media, but you must construct it with aspects of your own creativity or originality (they can’t just be copied). For the example that you create, you can select any historical time period in the 20th century or any current topic in the news. Historical time periods that must be covered (must have AT LEAST one sample from each of the three historical time periods) Imperialism World War I Russian Revolution Scoring Guide: Sample 1: Sample 2: Sample 3: Sample 4: Sample 5: Sample 6: Sample 7: 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) 5 Points (Identification of Technique and Analysis) Your Sample 40 Points (Creation, Identification of Technique, and Analysis) All 8 samples will be submitted in “booklet” form, with the sample on the front and analysis form on the back.
