Word about conduct in classroom Please read this carefully, sign it and post it under the course materials section on D2L as specified by your instructor. This is a large class but you are not a small part of it! To make our time together as valuable as possible, we both have to work hard at it. The following basic principles may give us some guidelines. - Every student has the right to learn as well as the responsibility not to deprive others of their right to learn. Every student is accountable for his or her own actions In order for you to get the most out of this class, please consider the following: Coming to the class - Attend all scheduled classes and arrive on time. Late arrivals and early departures are very disruptive and violate the first basic principle If unable to come to the class within 15 minutes of the start of the class, students will wait until break in 2 hour class. In the 1 hour class, students will not come in the class if they are more than 10 minutes late of class start time In the class - During the lecture, no phone use to text or search internet except for the activity which require the students to search the internet and instructed by the instructor During the lecture, use the laptop just for making notes During the lecture, if using laptop then students are encouraged to sit on the side or at the last row of the classroom so not to disturb the fellow students by screen activity During the lecture, students won’t indulge in any conversations with their peers During the lecture, full attention is on the lecture During the lecture, students are encouraged to raise hand if any question or concerns E-mail communication with instructor - When communicating to the instructor, always use ‘Course Code and your section’ in the subject line When communicating to the instructor, students are encouraged to use ‘Dr. ____’ When communicating to the instructor, response from the instructors will be in 24hrs or earlier Please let me know immediately if you have a problem that is preventing you from performing satisfactorily in this class.
