Your instructor expects you to attend class regularly, to arrive on time, to be prepared for class, to meet assignment deadlines, to use your time wisely, to participate in all classroom activities, to have a positive attitude, to pay attention, to listen, and to avoid disruptive behaviors.
All electronic devices must be turned off while you are in class. Please remember that college policy prohibits visitors, including children.
M-DCC NORTH CAMPUS, 2 nd Floor. Bldg. 2 — The College Prep Writing Lab offers a tutorial program that complements the ENC 0002 instructional program. You do not need to register separately for the lab. You do need to purchase the book Grammar and All That Jazz to use in the lab. To fulfill the course exit requirements , lab attendance is required of all students in
ENC 000 . Please note carefully that your academic performance and attendance in the lab will affect your grade! If you have more than three
(3) unexcused absences in the lab you will fail the course.
_________
Grading System
The system used in all college prep writing classes is the same and is easy to understand. To advance to ENC0020, the next level, you must earn an ‘S.’ If you earn a ‘P’ or a ‘U,’ you must repeat ENC 0020. Grades of ‘S’ or ‘P’ are not used in determining the cumulative grade point average (GPA).”
S = Satisfactory (You may enroll in ENC0020.)
P = Progress (You have shown progress but you must register again for ENC 0002.)
U = Unsatisfactory (Your performance in the class does not demonstrate progress. You must register again for
ENC 0002.)
