COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The MTG 2204 class has been designed to fulfill the mathematics course requirements for students
who do not intend to major in any subject who requires substantial mathematics. This course
introduces the student to the concepts of Angles, Basic Geometric Constructions, Introduction to
Proof, Theorems involving Angles, Congruent Triangles, Basic Theorems, and Parallel Lines,
CLASS DECORUM:
In order to optimize your learning experience, classroom interruption must be kept to a minimum.
Please make every effort to arrive on time and avoid causing an interruption if you need to leave
early. PLEASE TURN YOUR CELL PHONE OFF AND AVOID USING IT DURING
CLASS.

instructor reserves the right to count it towards your final grade. Any student who simply abandons
the class without formally withdrawing is more likely to receive an “F” rather than a “W”
A NOTE ON CALCULATORS:
A scientific calculator is required for this course. However a graphing calculator is highly
recommended for students continuing onto higher level mathematics courses. Calculators will not
be shared during examinations.

EXAMINATION:
Five exams (worth 50% of the total grade), Final (worth 30% of the total
grade), and Homework (worth 20% of the total grade) will be given during
