Cellular Respiration Foldable Activity
You are going to make a flip book foldable on Cellular Respiration. On each page, use your notes and/or textbook
to complete using the guidelines below.
1st Page
 Write the Title “Cellular Respiration”
 Define what cellular respiration is
 Write your name on the bottom
nd
2 Page
 On the bottom of the tab write “EQUATION”
 One the page write out the chemical equation for cellular respiration
 Write the names of each part of the chemical equation (Ex. CO2…”carbon dioxide”)
 Label the “products” and “reactants”
3rd page
 On the bottom of the tab write “LOCATION”
 Draw a picture of a mitochondria and label the following: inner membrane, outer membrane, matrix, cristae
 Draw an arrow and point to the location (hint: not in the mitochondria) where glycolysis takes place and label it
“GLYCOLYSIS”
 Draw and arrow to point to the location where the Kreb’s Cycle takes place and label it “KREB’S CYCLE”
 Draw and arrow to point to the location where electron transport occurs & label it “ELECTRON TRANSPORT”
4th page
 On the bottom of the tab write “GLYCOLYSIS”
 Write what molecule is used to start glycolysis
 Name what molecule(s) are produced at the end of glycolysis
 Write whether or not this requires oxygen
 Write the net total of ATP produced at the end of glycolysis
5th page
 On the bottom of the tab write “KREB’S CYCLE AND ELECTRON TRANSPORT”
 Draw a line down the center of the page to divide it into two halves
 Label one side the “Kreb’s Cycle” & the other side “Electron Transport and ATP Synthesis”
 On the Kreb’s Cycle half
o Write what substance is being used at the beginning of the cycle
o Whether or not oxygen is used
o The total number of ATP produced from one (1) glucose molecule
o The total number of NADH and FADH2 produced (label these 2 molecule “electron carrier molecules”)
 On the Electron Transport half
o Write how ATP is produced (using the term electron transport chain, hydrogen ions, and ATP
synthase)
o The total number of ATP produced at the end of the electron transport chain
o What the final electron acceptor is
o What is a byproduct of this process (hint: oxygen binds to H to form what?)
Last Page
 On the bottom of the tab write “IMPORTANCE”
 Write the TOTAL amount of ATP produced from one molecule of glucose
 Explain why cellular respiration is important to all organism
 Explain the relationship between photosynthesis and respiration
