__ Include a title (centered) that describes the essay, not just “Analysis Essay” because that’s a label.

___ Include your name in top right corner before the title.

___Used 12 pt. black type in essay; title can be 14 – 18 pt. type

__ Underline thesis statement in first paragraph.

___ Include name of authors in introductory paragraph.

___Include story titles in thesis statement. Short stories punctuate with quote marks; book titles italicize when typing.

__Used text evidence to support thesis statement. This means you have pulled actual words—placed in quote marks—from both stories in the essay to PROVE the point you make in the thesis statement.

__ For text evidence from books, put the page number of the excerpt in parenthesis immediately following the excerpt. ( p. 15)
