Math Studies 2015-2016 Process Standards

Standard RFL: Reflection - I can demonstrate knowledge of self through reflection to help meet the aims and objectives of Math Studies, to inform my study decisions, to reinforce my productive mathematical practices, and to improve my overall Math Studies performance.

Level

7

Goals

Reflection demonstrates criticism/evaluation/discussion/inclusion of the: a.

type of problem(s) being encountered and experienced in a way that refines the powers of abstraction and generalization. b.

proper integration and identification/comprehension of internationally accepted mathematical symbols/notation and terminology. c.

selection and use of suitable mathematical strategies and techniques including recognition of the practical applications where technological devices could be appropriately used as beneficial tools. d.

form demonstrated in workings as well as the value of all mathematical communication done using words. e.

manner of assessing the significance and the reasonableness of results. f.

personal concerns that hamper performance. g.

developed plan of action aimed at resolving issue(s) and improving performance while detailing the level of commitment and revisiting previously established goals.
