Introduction to Sports Medicine Course Guidelines
In this course students will learn the basics of sports medicine, medical careers, general
nutrition, and basic athletic training procedures. Basic lab sessions include prophylactic
taping, nutritional analysis and diet management. This course is designed for students
who have interest in various medical professions and learning more about sports
medicine related injuries and management. Students will earn certification in First Aide
and CPR.

Through classroom and hands on applications of the concepts of sports medicine the
students will learn a practical knowledge into the world of medicine.

Grading will be determined in the following areas:

Taping Tests
Your final grade is determined by a percentage of the total points earned. Late
assignments will be graded down 10% for each week

A 93-100%
A- 90-93%
B+ 87-89%
B 83-86%
B- 80-82%
C+ 77-79%
C 73-76%
C- 70-70%
D+ 67-69%
D 62-66%
F 61% and below
