Nicolas Copernicus • 1543 • All of the planets revolve around the sun. • This theory is known as the heliocentric theory. Galileo Galilei • In 1609, Galileo used a telescope to look at the sky. • He confirmed Copernicus’ theory that the planets revolved around the sun.
