For homework, look for a feed label on one of the following commercial feeds:

IF YOU DON’T OWN ANIMALS, you can look online at many pet food
companies (such as Purina) and they will provide nutritional labels for
many of their commercial products. Print the label out to use for the
assignment.
Complete the information below about the feed label you have chosen.
What is the name of the animal feed that you chose?
Write down the following components of the feed you choose:
Water
Crude Protein
Fiber
Calorie
Fat
What is the main ingredient (HINT: ingredient lists are ranked from highest to lowest
amounts) So if soybeans is listed first, then that is the main ingredient.
Are you surprised by the main 3 ingredients in what you feed your pet?
Do you think your pet needs better quality ingredients? (Remember--animals like
dogs are carnivores…their protein should come mainly from animal sources.)
