Spelling Activities
Each night complete a different activity using your current spelling list.
 Riddles (follow example below)
Clue: I am used on the ground or blackboard
Clue: I come in different colors
What am I? (chalk)
 Rainbow words (write each word using 3 different colors)
 Sentences (Choose at least 8 words and write a sentence for each word)
 Word sort (words can be sorted by common spelling sound or pattern)
 Narrative or Story
(write about a specific topic or write a story – use at least 8 spelling words)
 Illustrate or write the definition (meaning) of 8 or more spelling words
 Word Hunt (list words you find while reading that follow spelling pattern)
 ABC order
***All writing and illustrations should be completed with care and effort. Be proud of what you do!
