Please list any & all after school conflicts (M-F) up to 6:00 pm from October 28 through
February 8 with week dates and times. If these are inflexible and unavoidable, it may
preclude your child’s participation in the musical or a major role. However, if there

knowledge gained below. But should unlisted, undisclosed commitments suddenly
conflict and cause missed rehearsals, your actor may lose his/her role.

Actor/Parent Commitment Sheet – 2015 HMS Production of AinW
[must be signed by actor & parents and turned in with Audition Form]
HMS Shows traditionally sell out before they open and involve a group of committed
team players. However, an HMS musical is not a casual commitment or add-on activity
for the already overly scheduled. This exciting opportunity demands an understanding of
the following:
**Our actor will be auditioned by professionals who will cast the best show possible. We
respectfully support these professionals’ decisions.
**Any actor selected for a LEAD in the musical, will commit to a read-through and four
or five music and/or dance rehearsals in December. Actors have the option to purchase a
musical CD and should practice over BREAK. Schedules will come out two weeks at a
time. NOTE: January and February rehearsals involve the entire cast four to five times a
week, potentially any day Monday through Friday, depending on director and actor best
availability. However, chorus members may end up with one only TWO or THREE
particular rehearsal days per week dictated by choreographer and actor availability as
stated in conflict section. In FEBRUARY all actors are called EVERY day. As in any
Harmony production: ALL ACTORS will be called every day of the final three weeks
before the show. The show dates are January 30, 31, Feb. 1. OR Feb. 6, 7, 8 if
necessary due to snow. Actors cannot miss more than ONE rehearsal for any reason
other than illness or prearranged, pre-approved absences. Parents must notify the
directors by e-mail or phone IN ADVANCE of any absence or actor may be removed
from the show. WE HAVE CHECKED ALL THESE DATES ON OUR CALENDAR.
**We have listed all potential commitments and conflicts on the audition form.
**Actor must listen, be respectful of person and property, and be responsible for being
prepared. This means arriving to rehearsal on time with script, costume, and other
assigned materials. Actor must memorize lines and blocking as assigned by director.
Repeated lack of preparation or lack of self-control and discipline may result in sitting
out a rehearsal or change in role.
**Actor must abide by all of the HMS rules for after school activities as stated in the
student handbook. Remember, no student may participate in an after school activity if
he/she has been absent from school that SAME DAY.
**If cast in the show, parents will check e-mail at least every MONDAY and FRIDAY or
be responsible to gain the information from another cast member in order to download
and print all scheduling information.
**If my child is cast, I will attend the mandatory parent information and volunteering
meeting on Monday, October 27 at 5:45. I will try to volunteer for at least 5-10 hours
on the show, and assist in getting his/her costume and makeup. (Actors should not attend
this meeting).
**If my child is cast, I will pick up or arrange transportation for my actor so that
directors can LEAVE promptly at 6 pm when directors MUST leave. If I am tardy twice
and hold up parents and directors, I understand my child may be removed from the cast.
