iCAT MEMORANDUM January 13, 2015 To: CWU Staff & Faculty From: George Clark, Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs Linda Schactler, Chief of Staff Marilyn Levine, Vice President of Academic & Student Life Steve DeSoer, Vice President of Operations Re: Completion of iCAT (Improving Central’s Applications and Technology) As President Gaudino recently noted in his State of the University Address, we are coming into the final stages of the iCAT Project. Many of you have contributed directly to the success of the initiatives completed to date and deserve the thanks of the CWU community. So, THANK YOU for all you do! Over the course of the next six months we will be completing the three last iCAT projects. (1) Time and Attendance: a user-friendly, practical, online system for managing time and attendance. (Go Live February 1, 2015) (2) CatPlan: a new budget planning system that will be utilized by those involved in the budget planning process and which will be deployed campus April 2015. (3) Chart of Accounts Redesign: New terminology and method of tracking expenditures and revenues. (Go Live July 1, 2015) We remain committed to supporting the transition for these final projects as January turns to February, February to March and onward. These three projects will continue to propel the revolutionary progress we have made in streamlining the way we work. Time and Attendance will impact virtually all staff and those faculty members who are supervisors. For this reason, it is critical that you attend a training session on the new system. An easy way to access the training schedule is to use the newly deployed “Employee” tab in MyCWU. Click on the training folder and request your training enrollment. Additional support will also be available to help everyone transition from the old practices to the new after the new systems go live. Watch Central Today (www.cwu.edu/news) for more information about these projects. You can also visit the project website http://www.cwu.edu/project-management/. If you have any questions of concerns, please talk with your supervisor or manager about them as soon as possible so that they can communicate with the Project Management Team and get the answers you need. We want to thank you again for all your support and involvement during these changes. We look forward to an exciting and innovative 2015.
