This tool should be taken seriously and not thrown together at the last minute. Place this slip in the back cover of your portfolio/binder. See each individual section for point value. Assignments will be given on a Friday and due the following Tuesday. You will lose points each block day you are late. You will need a binder and page protectors! No hole punching. ____ Divider Pages Labeled and in Sequential Order (you should have 5 of them) (50 points) ___ 1. Cover Page –Should include your Legal Name, Early Childhood Education I or II, the Year, (25 Points) and a photograph of yourself (25 points). (it should look professional in nature) This should slip into the front of your binder. (50 points) ___ 2. Five Year Career Plan - In order to receive full credit you must type 4 paragraphs on one pg. 1st Paragraph – Describe in detail what you want to be when you grow up. Define the career of your choice and what led you to want to pursue it. (25 points) 2nd Paragraph – Present –Tell the reader what classes you are taking now that will or might teach you skills needed for your future career. (25 points) 3rd Paragraph – Describe the next 2 years in relation to courses in high school you’ll be taking as well as which college you would like to attend. What will be you major, minor, are you going for an Associated, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate. (25 points) 4th Paragraph – 5 years in the future – Tell the reader what company you would like to be working for and in what position. What will your salary (income) look like? will you be married and with children? (25 points) ___3. Resume- Create a resume briefing a potential employer on your career goals and skills. Keep your information to front of one page. You may use any format or choose, but you must have the following elements: __Personal Information (10 points) __Employment Objective (20 points) __Special Skills (10 points) __Educational Background (10 points) __Work Experience-don’t forget to add ECE I responsibilities and skills (10 points) __Activities and Interests (10 points) __Include the words “References Upon Request” (10 points) __Grammar and Punctuation Corrected (10 points) __Format is consistent throughout and in the sequence above (10 points) ___4. Lesson Plan with 2 dimensional artifact (sample) Select your best lesson plan so far and re-type it correcting any mistakes. (50 points) One page only. (a blank lesson plan sheet for the portfolio is in my global drive.) Place a sample of your lesson plan in a page protector and place behind the LP. Picture(s) with a caption Go to global-KelleyD-ECE-Slide Show 2014- and locate a picture (25 points) or two of you and a child engaged in learning and copy it into a word document along with a typed caption (25 points)explaining to the viewer the scenario pictured. ___ 6. Honors, Awards, & Certificates Make copies of any originals, take pictures of 3D awards, and place them in page Protectors. ____7. Three References These cannot be relatives. You do not need to actually get them you just need to type their information down. Try to gather a variety of references, teacher, coach, etc… Each reference is worth (30 points each) __ name __ title __ address (business not personal unless it was a babysitting job) __ phone # __ e-mail address These should fit on one page along with a written paragraph explaining why you want a reference and placed above the references. Include a generic paragraph asking for a recommendation and who and why you need one. It should tell the person you want a reference from the following; your GPA, extracurricular activities, clubs, workplace readiness skills, and any other information about you that you would like them to add. (10 points) ___ 8. Originals (with corrections on them) behind the final drafts (60 points) ___ 9. Final Portfolio turned in on time with all pages in Page Protectors (100 points)
