Objectives Each and every student will demonstrate the mastery of knowledge of historical events from 1500 to the present in order to understand the events of today and to predict the choices and challenges the world will face in the future Each and every student will independently utilize critical thinking skills to deliberate current issues within the context of World History while developing research skills, analyzing primary and secondary sources especially through the use of maps, news articles, social media and data analysis. Each and every student will make connections to resources and audiences beyond the teacher and the classroom as a way to develop skills as a global citizen. Other helpful tips: Current articles from various news sources will also be an integral part of the course reading. You are encouraged to read current newspapers, periodicals, news websites, as well as listen to news radio and view television news programs representing a variety of different viewpoints. Study and review the material presented and practiced in class every day. Ten to fifteen minutes can really improve your grade and understanding. Seek help in Titan Time! Technology: Use of technology in the classroom is for instructional purposes ONLY. Assessments: Students should reserve questions about their individual progress for after school or during Titan Time. Scores will be updated on Phoenix within 2 weeks of the assignment being graded.
