Bus Driver Incentive Program
The Transportation Department is pleased to announce the following incentive
program to help recruit and retain qualified bus drivers for the Iredell-Statesville
Schools.
The Iredell-Statesville Schools will pay for the cost of obtaining an original CDL
license ($81.00) or the cost of renewing a CDL license ($51.00) with P and S
endorsements, documented with an Iredell County School Bus Driver Pocket
Card. This incentive program is reserved for employees of the Iredell-Statesville
Schools who drive a school bus regularly for the district for a minimum of 60 days
or has been available and willing to sub within the last 90 days, without refusal,
as needed. Employees that do not successfully complete one full year of
employment, including driving for the district, will have the cost of this
reimbursement ($81.00) or ($51.00) deducted from their last payroll check.
All applications must be signed by the employee’s principal. The application
and the original receipt from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) should
be submitted to Nancy Curley at the Bus Garage. Reimbursement forms will be
processed quarterly.
