School Improvement Plan Summary
Our focus area is: Student Engagement/Leadership
Overall goal: By 2017, EES will increase implementation of effective staff and student leadership practices
from 0% to 100% completion based on the online Leader in Me Live Binder.
Target goal: By 2016, EES will increase implementation of effective staff and student leadership practices
from 0% to 50% completion based on the online Leader in Me Live Binder.
Approaches/Strategies: Lighthouse Team will monitor and support six action teams to increase aligned, authentic leadership culture.
Measures:
Performance/Impact: Leader in Me progress report, ODR
Fidelity of implementation: CWT (engagement), Observations, Leader in Me progress report, Progress Charts of Action Teams
During the 90 day cycle time for cycle 1 and 2 we will revisit/monitor our plan every 4-6 weeks

1. In order to meet your Overall Goal, what is the most important area that needs improving and why?
Train 100% of staff on Leader in Me, PBiS and MTSS as it aligns to RtI Behavior Tiers.
2. What approaches/strategies are contributing to your success in this area and what data suggests this?
Leader in Me PD/strategies, MTSS PD/ clear processes, and RtI PD/academic implementation help staff have a basic understanding.
Leader in Me Year 2 PD led to deeper understanding by staff.
Classrooms with higher authentic engagement and student leadership culture/community are outperforming peers.
Student mentor program led to success for some of most frequent office fliers from past.
3. What are opportunities for improvement, gap or barriers are in this area?
Several new staff need initial training. Gap in school wide alignment and ownership at all levels.
4. What seems to be the root cause of the problem and what data suggests this?
Staff turnover in the past led to the need to retrain all staff in order to rekindle LiM community amongst staff, as well as unified understanding.
Data: Various levels of implementation and lack of carry over by students between homeroom and other classes.
