1. Feel Again by One Republic
It's been a long time coming since I've seen your face
I've been everywhere and back trying to replace
Everything that I had 'til my feet went numb
Praying like a fool that's been on the run
But with you
I feel again
Yeah, with you
I can feel again
Heart's still beating but it's not working
It's like a million dollar phone that you just can't ring
I reached out trying to love but I feel nothing
Yeah, my heart is numb
But with you
I feel again
Yeah, with you
I can feel again

An Icy Wonderland
I walk up to the stand with fifty cents clinking in my hand.
I go up to the two girls their faces as red as a tomato,
as if they hadn’t had a speck of water or shade for weeks.
The sun was like a heat lamp over our heads.
14. Underline at least ONE simile in the

I order my delicious icy with glee.
I give the silver coins to her and wait,

“Ahhhhh,” as I taste the frozen cone.
CRUNCH!
The ice melts on my tongue like a piece of chocolate over a fire.
I slurp and I slush the sweet blizzard of ice.
Then nothing is left but a soaked paper cone and the aroma
of a cold wonderland.
What a treat!

5. I threw a wish in the well,
Don't ask me, I'll never tell
I looked to you as it fell,
And now you're in my way
I'd trade my soul for a wish,
Pennies and dimes for a kiss
I wasn't looking for this,
But now you're in my way
Your stare was holdin',
Ripped jeans, skin was showin'
Hot night, wind was blowin'
Where do you think you're going, baby?

Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here's my number,
So call me, maybe?

Underneath the poet tree
Come and rest awhile with me,
And watch the way the word-web weaves
Between the shady story leaves.
The branches of the poet tree
Reach from the mountains to the sea.
So come and dream, or come and climb—
Just don’t get hit by the falling rhyme

7. Sky Seasoning
By Shel Silverstein
A piece of sky
Broke off and fell
Through the crack in the ceiling
Right into my soup,
KERPLOP!
I really must state
That I usually hate
Lentil soup, but I ate
Every drop!
Delicious, delicious
(a bit like plaster)
But so delicious, goodness sake –
I could have eaten a lentil-soup ocean
It’s amazing the difference
A bit of sky can make.
8. Thrill Ride
By Ken Nesbitt
Up.
Up.
Up.
Click, click.
Wind blows
sharp in my ears.
My heart jumps. Skips.
It’s up. It’s up higher.
It’s up. Up the highest.
Hands grab the clouds.
Then a forever pause.
Still.
Waiting.
Finally. Whoosh!
Steep drop,
Down.
Down.
Down.
