Volume 1, Issue 1
Language Arts
In Language Arts, this month, we will be
introducing different parts of the
Pathways to Literacy program. Please
make sure your child is reading a book
every night for at least fifteen minutes.
Reading on a consistent basis helps to
improve fluency in reading. You can find
the reading log for each month in your
child’s agenda. Please help them fill it
out and initial each day that they read.
In writing, this quarter, we will be working
on generating our own ideas and
transferring these thoughts into
sentences. We will also begin editing for
capital letters and punctuation marks.
Math
The concepts that will be covered in
math this month will be: Ordinal
numbers, place value, time, calendar,
temperature, data, and review basic
addition & subtraction facts.
Social Studies & Science
In Social Studies, we will learn about
the responsibilities that make up a
good citizen. We will also learn how
communities change over time.
The science topic that will be
covered this month will be Scientific
Investigations.

any homework, please email

child so I can review it in class.

a note in if your child’s regular
dismissal changes that day.
