AP PSYCHOLOGY FINAL PROJECT

PRESENTATIONS: JUNE 9 (B) & 10 (A)

General Rubric:

Although each project choice will have their own specific rubric, the following is the criteria on which you will be graded.

100 points:

Class Productivity (20 points) – Bringing proper materials, supplies, efficiency in class, appropriate phone usage.

Content (40 points) – Directions have been followed properly, all aspects of rubric have been fulfilled, information is accurate and applied correctly.

Creativity (20 points) – Project reflects creative thought, time spent and authenticity. Proper costumes and props are included.

Presentation (20 points) – Presentation reflects organization, practice and planning ahead. Speakers make good eye contact and speak clearly.

Additionally, each person will complete an anonymous evaluation of their group members. This is will help determine individual grades.

Fractured Fairytale (1-2 members)

Select a familiar story (a different story for each group). I will give you some ideas—but you can choose anything (NOT Cinderella!) as long as you clear it with me. Retell the story, within the following guidelines. Present your version of your story to the class (10-15 minutes per group). You lose points if you go over. The presentation must be accompanied by a 2 page handout (for me) which includes:

Visual Aid (1-2 members)

Create a mural for a specific chapter. You mural should reflect your interpretation of the chapter rather than individual pictures. Please have a draft prepared for your teacher before you begin painting/sketching. You will need to provide all materials.

Crash Course (1-2 members)

Create a 5-7 minute overview of a psychology topic. You should incorporate 15-20 psychology terms. You should follow the general gist of a crash course with visuals, props, and a story line. Of course it must be peppered with wit and sarcasm…duh.

Song/Music Video (3-4 members)

Create a song and music video incorporating costumes, props and yes, choreography! You may record for our viewing in class or perform LIVE. Regardless, part of your grade will be to teach the class your song AND choreography. You will need to include 15-20 psychology terms. You will need to bring 15-20 copies of your lyrics in class so that we may learn your song. It is also your responsibility to bring all music/equipment for your musical performance.

Commercial (2-3 members)

Create a product that represents any psychological concept. You will need to create a prototype of this product to present to the class. You will need to prepare a written proposal that explains how to use the product and include at least 2 scientific studies that apply to the usefulness of your product. Your commercial should highlight your written proposal while dazzling your potential customers with your marketing genius!

Talk Show/Radio Show (3-4 members)

You will choose a specific key person from Psychology and create either a talk show or panel discussion style show. This show will need to highlight important theories and achievements of the person(s). Other guests should include both people that agree and disagree with your guest (from their time period, not today) using thoughtful questioning and proper etiquette. (this is not Maury…)

Your presentation should include 8 questions on topics related to their field and accomplishments.

You will need to write a script and you will turn that in. Proper costumes and props are expected!
